Odor & VOC Control with Floating Ball Covers
How it works
A 91% Armor Ball® layer acts as a physical cap over the liquid, reducing the open surface from which odor, H₂S, and VOCs escape. This eases the nuisance complaints and regulatory pressure that open wastewater, leachate, agricultural, and chemical surfaces create.
The barrier works without chemicals and without maintenance: the balls pour on, self-arrange, move aside for equipment, and re-cover automatically. The UV-stabilized HDPE is inert across pH 2–13, so it suits aggressive as well as municipal surfaces.
What to look for
- Emission source: A surface barrier targets emissions rising off the liquid; for gas-tight capture, compare against a sealed membrane cover.
- Chemical compatibility: Confirm Armor Ball® HDPE against your liquid with material certs and an SDS, especially for leachate or chemical surfaces.
- Access needs: Free-floating balls push aside for sampling and equipment, then re-cover — no panels to remove.

FAQ
Odor & VOC Control — questions answered
How do ball covers reduce odor?
Armor Ball® covers 91% of the surface, forming a physical barrier that suppresses the odor, H₂S, and VOC emissions rising off the liquid — reducing nuisance complaints without chemical additives.
Is a ball cover or a membrane better for odor?
A ball cover reduces surface emissions while staying easy to install and access; a membrane provides gas-tight containment but is a sealed, anchored installation. The right choice depends on whether you need emission reduction or full gas capture — see our comparison.
Does odor control require any chemicals?
No. Armor Ball® suppresses odor, H₂S, and VOC release purely as a physical barrier over 91% of the surface — there is nothing to dose or replenish.
